Found a NOS sissybar rack on ebay. Looks good installed so I’m trying to figure out what to do with it. Everything I add at this point just adds more weight, which decreases mileage, so other than the aesthetics I’m not sure if it is really useful for riding.
So it took a while. A lot of internet searches. A couple of wrong size mounting brackets (one came with the sissy bar) & a thought to make one myself. Then I found it. A NOS mounting bracket for the vintage Kawasaki sissy bars from 1980ish.
Finally got around to sanding/primering/painting the sissy bar that came with the luggage rack. Not sure if I’ll keep it on, but as long as it serves a purpose it’ll stay.
So I bought a UJM (universal japanese motorcycle) rack off ebay. Supposedly came off of a Honda. Doesn’t quite have the mounting holes in the right place so I made some extension bars out of an old curtain rod & secured the back end with a wood framing bracket I bought at home depot. Also came with a sissy bar which I will add later.
