2 – About the Electric KZ550 C4 LTD

April 4, 2021 Update:

Finally got back to working on the conversion to an electric motor a couple of months ago.  Will update pictures soon but the specs are based on a 72 volt motor, Alltrax controller, ten 66 ah used Nissan Leaf lithium batteries. Using stock speedometer, added an ammeter, will switch digital voltmeter to analog as the digital one can’t be seen during daylight. Refer to the updates and picture section.

Way back in September 2013 this happened:

Hokey Smokes!  Looks like I need to finish editing this page one day.  In the meantime this is (mostly) about my 1983 Kawasaki KZ550 C4 LTD.  Just short of 20,000 miles it decided it wasn’t going to start without making a rather loud repeating sound from the left side of the engine … long story short, carbs are out, engine is apart down to the crankcase, and I need to find out if it is worth fixing this engine or getting another one …
